PASTOR JOE FICHTNER ( Pastor )

L. Joe Fichtner was born in 1952 and baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, White Nebraska.  Joe was confirmed May 25, 1966 at St. Johns.  He attended public school before attending Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska.  It was at Concordia where Joe and his wife Ann met and were married in 1973.  

Joe and Ann are blessed with three daughters, Kim Jipp (Indianapolis), Tracy Tresley (Reno, Nevada) and Katie Fichtner (Fort Wayne).  Joe & Ann have one grandchild, Matthew who is 3 year olds.

After Joe graduated from Concordia Seward in 1975, he and Ann served in Lutheran schools as teachers, coach, athletic director, and principal.  The Fichtners have taught in Iowa; Los Angeles; Carson City, Nevada and Chicago. 

Joe enrolled in Concordia Theological Seminary in the summer of 2003, completing his course work in May of 2006.  He served one year vicarage at St. Peter's in Fort Wayne beginning February 2006.  On April 24, 2007 Vicar Fichtner received a call from Our Hope Lutheran Church & School in Huntertown, to serve as Principal and Associate Pastor.  Joe accepted the call to Our Hope.  He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary on May 18, 2007 with a Master of Divinity with a systematic emphasis.  Joe was ordained at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on May 6, 2007.  He was then installed as Associate Pastor & Principal at Our Hope Lutheran Church & School on Sunday, May 13, 2007.  On September 1, 2007, Pastor Joe stepped into the roll of interim pastor for the retiring Pastor Phil Schamehorn.  Pastor Joe looks forward to the work the Lord has prepared him for.
